The Ludlow Pub Trail: An Historic 'Pub Crawl' Through Medieval Charm
Step back in time and raise a glass to history on the Ludlow Pub Trail—a specially curated 16-'pub crawl’ that weaves through the towns winding streets, hidden alleys, cobbled lanes, Tudor timber-framed buildings, ancient coaching inns, and quirky micro-pubs.
HOW IT WORKS:
- The Trail will run between 12noon Friday 12th to 4pm Sunday 14th September - so no need to complete on the same day!
NB please be sure to check each individual establishment for their opening times. - Collect your self-guided Trail Leaflet from the Festival's 'Welcome Point' situated outside the Castle - during the Festival's 'Welcome Point' opening times only: Fri & Sat 10am-5pm, Sun 10am-3.30pm
- When you arrive at a pub on the trail, make a purchase from their bar and present the Pub Trail leaflet to a member of staff for stamping.
- Score each establishment out of 10 for drinks quality, atmosphere, staff friendliness, surrounding and star quality.
- Visit at least 8 participating outlets from the two lists ‘within the town walls’ & ‘outside the town walls’ – with minimum of 2 from each list, to qualify for your FREE Limited Edition Ludlow Pub Trail T-Shirt!
- Once completed, return your Pub Trail Leaflet to the Ludlow Brewery to claim your free limited edition T-Shirt, and by 5pm on Sunday 14th September at the latest.

Each pub on the trail has been handpicked for its historic significance, distinctive character, or exceptional drink offerings. Some are centuries old, others are fresh and fiercely independent—but all play a role in Ludlow’s vibrant pub culture, each stop steeped in centuries of stories. You’ll drink where poets have pondered, soldiers have caroused, and locals have laughed for generations. So, spend the weekend visiting the eclectic mix of Pubs and Bars in and around Ludlow, all within one mile of the Ludlow train station too!
