Aaron Vallance - interviewing Kath Slack

Aaron Vallance is a food writer and NHS consultant psychiatrist. His blog, 1 Dish 4 The Road, has been shortlisted three times for The Guild of Food Writers awards, whilst he has also written for publications such as Vittles, Lecker and Pit Magazine. His debut book - Friday Night Chicken - is due out in April 2027, a coming-of-age memoir that recounts the foods, folklore and traditions of his Ashkenazi Jewish heritage. It is both an intimate portrait of family life, where food is connection and devotion, and a wider lens through which he explores themes of immigration and identity, religion and ritual. The book was shortlisted for this year's Jane Grigson Trust Award.
