Cyrus Todiwala OBE

Where: Outer Bailey Demonstration Stage - Outer Bailey

Cyrus is a Chef, Restaurateur, Educationist, Author and Entrepreneur and often seen on our television screens, including BBC's Saturday Kitchen, as well as at various Food Festivals where he is a real crowd favourite.

Genial and down-to-earth, his accessible persona masks an encyclopaedic knowledge of food history and cuisine and many a sophisticated turn in the kitchen.

Together with his wife Pervin, Cyrus runs four restaurants. The reopened 'Café Spice Namasté' at Royal Albert Wharf is a 25-year-old institution and the longest running Michelin BIB Gourmand restaurant. Two Hotel restaurants bear his name: Mr Todiwala’s Kitchen, one of which is at Hilton London Heathrow Airport Terminal 5.

A dyed in the wool Parsee, born in Bombay, and recipient of a bucket full of prestigious awards, this is one lauded chef who won't stop working in the kitchen!

Since his arrival in the UK from Goa in 1991 (where he was Executive Chef at the Taj), he has changed the perception of Indian cuisine. He is one of the only Indian chefs in the 'Who's Who,' and amongst others, he has won a 'Catey Award,' a 'Special Award' from the Craft Guild of Chefs, and various citations for his commitment to sustainability.

He was awarded an MBE in 2000 and an OBE in 2009 for services to the Hospitality Industry.

In 2012 he cooked the very first luncheon of Her Majesty The Queen's Diamond Jubilee Tour and is regularly on radio, television. He has also written five cookbooks
