An exciting new addition for 2022: Joel Black's knife-making and forge demos

A chef for 17 years, and a blacksmith for six, Joel has been head chef in a number of restaurants in the UK (mostly Bristol), as well as working in kitchens in France. After a cycle trip which took him to India, Joel decided to change his life and undertake a BA Hons Degree in Artist Blacksmithing, to get to know everything he could about forging the perfect chef's knife.

He now lives that dream, working full time at his forge in Hereford, creating hand made custom blades for chefs all over the world.

Join him at Ludlow Food Festival, to find out more about what he does - there will be demos running throughout the day where you will be able to watch how Joel and his team make things.  There will be a selection of knives available to buy and Joel's team will be on hand to talk about steel, knives wet stones and knife-making courses.
