Ludlow Assembly Rooms welcomes Dan Saladino

PLEASE NOTE: this talk will take place at Ludlow Assembly Rooms and is ticketed separately from Ludlow Food Festival. Tickets should be bought directly from the Assembly Rooms - links below.

Dan Saladino is a journalist and broadcaster. He makes programmes about food for BBC Radio 4 and BBC World Service. His work has been recognised by the Guild of Food Writers Awards, the Fortnum and Mason Food and Drink Awards, and in America by the James Beard Foundation. Eating to Extinction was awarded the 2019 Jane Grigson Trust Award. He lives in Cheltenham but his roots are Sicilian.

From hunter gatherer honey to the ‘champagne’ of England and the real King of cheeses, Dan Saladino will take you on a tour of the world’s most endangered foods and reveal why it’s so important we help to save them. On this journey through the past, present and future of food, you’ll encounter strange and delicious foods, hear extraordinary stories from the Arctic to the wild coffee forests of Ethiopia and learn about pioneering people, from farmers and seed-savers to chefs and botanists, who are all working to prevent plants, animals and knowledge from going extinct. With the world in crisis, find out why we all need to know how to preserve food biodiversity and flavours for our future.
