The Oak, Wigmore
Ian is Head Chef of 'The Oak,' a beautifully restored 16th century coaching inn in the Herefordshire village of Wigmore, having recently left 'The Cliffe at Dinham' where he was also Head Chef.
A Shropshire boy, Ian has lived in and around Ludlow all his life, and his training was under one of the top Chefs of his time, Chris Bradley, at the Michelin Starred 'Mr Underhills' in Ludlow where Ian worked for 17 years, beginning life as a KP, making his way up the ladder before running the kitchen for the last 8 years of it being open.
This certainly put him in good stead for when the Restaurant closed its doors, and Ian leapt across the river to 'The Cliffe' where he gained 2 AA Rosettes immediately and kept them for the 3.5 years he spent there.
Ian loves to use fresh local produce to evolve and innovate his culinary ideas and when not cheffing, he likes to stay active playing football and golf, going to the gym – staying fit to participate in 'Storm the Castle' Duathlon, held in our home of Ludlow Castle which he has done for the past 5 years.
